Performance 4 Life (P4L)

Location & Dates

Performance 4 Life is intended for athletes who would like to continue personal climbing performance, but who do not wish to compete (or wish to compete recreationally) or train to compete.
Athletes in this program are exposed to a training structure, but in a laid-back environment. Goals are intended for personal growth and not intended for competing.
(Note): This class involves lead climbing.
Prior lead experience is not required, but it will be introduced and taught for teens ages 14+ with the appropriate maturity level.

Prerequisites:

  • Age: 12-19 years
  • Top Rope Belaying: Athletes must know how to Top Rope belay in a safe manner, belay confidently and be able to load a GriGri without hesitation.
    • Option to take our Teen Introductory to Belay course if not yet certified. Please email registration.northvan@climbbase5.com to schedule a course.
  • Minimum Climbing Ability: Confidence and proficiency in climbing routes is expected. Athletes must be able to confidently climb 5.10+ and boulder V2.

*Registration Disclaimer: Climb Base5 aims to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants. For the safety and wellbeing of every child, participants must be able to follow staff instructions, engage safely in a group setting, and interact appropriately with others. If a child is unable to meet these expectations or their behaviour impacts safety, parents or guardians will be notified and asked to speak with their child about improving that behaviour. If the behaviour does not improve, or in more serious situations, parents/guardians will be contacted and asked to come pick up their child. In these cases, the child may be withdrawn from the program, and no refund will be issued.
